Two Seed IP attorneys co-author article on trademark predators

Seed IP attorneys E. Russell Tarleton and Jennifer R. Ashton are the co-authors of an article entitled Trademark Predators — Can They Really Prey On The Public?, published on December 18, by Law360, a subscription-based, legal news service operated by the Portfolio Media company, a subsidiary of LexisNexis.

Mr. Tarleton is a partner in Seed IP’s Trademark, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, and IP Enforcement, Defense & Litigation Groups. He has assisted clients in the procurement and enforcement of patents, trademarks, and copyrights for almost 30 years. Mr. Tarleton received a B.S. in Aeronautics (cum laude) from Utah State University (1982) and was awarded his J.D. by the University of Utah (1986). He received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington (1998). Mr. Tarleton is a member of the Utah State Bar (1992), the Washington State Bar (1987), and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Ms. Ashton is an associate in Seed IP’s Trademark and IP Enforcement, Defense & Litigation Groups. She counsels and assists clients with acquiring, maintaining, and policing trademark, copyright and domain name rights. In 2003, Ms. Ashton earned her B.A. (with Honors) in English Literature from Columbia University. She received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2006. Jennifer is admitted to the Washington State Bar.
