Seed IP attorneys to partake in mock trial demonstrating strategic use of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings to defend infringement assertion – May 23

On May 23, Seed IP's Shoko Leek (partner) and Toshiko Takenaka (of counsel) and are scheduled to join Bracewell LLP (Seattle, USA) partners Jeffrey Danley and Douglas Steward to partake in mock trial demonstrating strategic use of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings to defend infringement assertion. Together they will present strategies to use different post-grant proceedings at USPTO to challenge the validity of U.S. patents. Shoko will present an overview of PTAB proceeding in comparison with EPO and JPO proceedings. Shoko and Toshiko will participate in the mock PTAB trial where Shoko will play a PTAB judge and decide whether the claims in the hypothetical is patentable over the prior art.

The May 23 mock trial will be hosted by AIPPI Japan.
