Brian has practiced in the area of intellectual property law for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in all phases of federal litigation with an emphasis on patent and trademark litigation as well as commercial disputes involving complex technology, including trial and pre-trial proceedings, dispositive briefing, settlement negotiations, and all aspects of discovery. 

Brian advises clients on intellectual property portfolio strategies, including licensing, procurement and opinion counseling, and due diligence assessments. He also advises clients on trade secret, trademark, and copyright matters, and is experienced in litigating design patent, copyright, trade secret, contract, and unfair competition claims.

Brian has litigated patent and commercial disputes in a variety of technologies, including computer systems/electronics (e.g., networks, smart phones, digital music players, digital cameras and related hardware/software), mechanical arts (e.g., alternative fuel systems, medical devices, lighting systems, automobiles and heavy machinery), and synthetic materials (e.g., corks, fiberglass doors, and packaging composites). 

Prior to joining Seed IP, Brian was a partner at an Am Law 100 firm for 13 years and has worked at both IP boutiques and general practice firms.
