Seed IP welcomes senior patent agent Kazuya (Kaz) Toyama, Ph.D.

Seed IP Law Group proudly welcomes senior patent agent Kazuya (Kaz) Toyama, Ph.D. Kaz focuses his practice on chemistry and organic chemistry matters. He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2016, and a B.S. (cum laude) in Chemistry from St. Francis College in 2007. Kaz has over seven years of experience in academia organic chemistry research, and two years of experience in industrial engineering. He has a scientist’s expertise in designing supramolecular catalysts, methodology development with asymmetric catalysts, total synthesis of anti-fungi natural products, polymer chemistry, and material science.

Prior to joining Seed IP, Kaz served as a patent agent at an international law firm gaining extensive experience in both U.S. and international patent prosecution, IP due diligence for transactions, clearance analyses, landscape analyses, and freedom to operate analyses in small molecules.
